Trent Grisham’s go-ahead grand slam in ninth lifts Yankees over Braves in high-scoring affair (highlights)

Down five runs midway through Saturday night’s game, the New York Yankees stormed back to stun the Atlanta Braves, 12-9, thanks to Trent Grisham’s go-ahead grand slam in the ninth inning at Truist Park.

The Yankees clawed back behind Anthony Volpe’s two home runs, including a game-tying solo shot in the eighth. Grisham completed the comeback with two outs in the ninth, launching a 1-1 slider from Raisel Iglesias over the right-field wall with the bases loaded. It was Grisham’s 17th homer of the season, matching his career high.

Will Warren gave the Yankees a mixed outing in his first post-break start. The rookie struck out five but couldn’t escape a messy fourth inning, exiting after allowing five runs in 3.2 innings. The bullpen bent but didn’t break, with Luke Weaver tossing 1.2 scoreless innings and Devin Williams securing the save despite a shaky ninth.

Cody Bellinger added a solo shot in the seventh, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Paul Goldschmidt helped set the table in key moments.
