A 51-year-old Missouri man died Thursday evening after being pulled from Lake Ontario near Little Field Place in Jefferson County, according to New York State Police. First responders were called around 7 p.m. when Gregory Stewart was reported missing in the water.
Stewart was located and given CPR, but could not be revived. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others who helped retrieve him required medical attention, with one taken to Samaritan Medical Center for treatment.
Multiple local emergency agencies assisted in the response, including fire departments and rescue squads from Belleville, Ellisburg, and surrounding areas.
