A man was stabbed Friday afternoon in an apartment complex on Spencer Road in Ithaca, prompting a swift response from local emergency services.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Kasieum A. Pia-Miller of Ithaca, has been charged with assault in the first degree, a Class B felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class D felony. He was arraigned and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail.
Ithaca Police officers arrived at 665 Spencer Road, The Amici House Apartments, around 3:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing. They found the victim at the scene with stab wounds and immediately provided medical assistance, supported by the Ithaca Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance.
The victim was later transported to a trauma center and is reported to be in stable condition.
