$450K in valuables stolen from Dix home safe

A Burdett man is facing felony charges after a major theft from a Dix residence, according to New York State Police. The March 2023 break-in resulted in the loss of several firearms and roughly $450,000 in precious metals and cash.

Investigators say 59-year-old Jeffrey Arcangeli broke into the home and forcibly opened a safe to access the stolen items. He has been charged with second-degree burglary and grand larceny.

Arcangeli was arraigned in Dix Town Court. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
