New York State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Tuesday evening in the town of York, Livingston County.
Troopers said the incident happened around 7:40 p.m. on Main Street when a 63-year-old woman was struck by a northbound 2014 Ford Fiesta. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
The driver, identified as 52-year-old Bryan D. Royston of Hilton, remained at the scene and called 911. Troopers reported no signs of impairment during their interview with Royston. He was evaluated by EMS and declined further treatment.
The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to assist in the investigation, which remains ongoing.
