An Auburn school official has stepped down for a new role in a neighboring district, triggering a restructuring of district leadership, according to The Citizen.
Assistant Superintendent for Personnel Kelly Garback resigned effective July 11 to take a similar position in the Homer Central School District. She cited proximity to home as a deciding factor in her departure, though she expressed gratitude for her time in Auburn.
Her exit led to the appointment of Amy Mahunik as deputy superintendent of personnel. Auburn also restructured leadership by eliminating Mahunik’s former role and creating two new executive director positions to sharpen focus on instruction and student outcomes.
