Von Miller signs with Washington Commanders

With training camp just a week away, veteran pass rusher Von Miller has found a new team.

The 36-year-old announced on Instagram that he is signing with the Washington Commanders after being released by the Buffalo Bills in March. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal is for one year, though final terms are still being worked out.

Miller originally signed a six-year, $120 million contract with Buffalo in 2022. He struggled through the 2023 season without recording a sack while facing domestic violence allegations. Although he was never formally charged, Miller served a four-game suspension in 2024 after turning himself in on a third-degree felony assault allegation involving a pregnant woman. Upon returning to the field, he bounced back with six sacks for the Bills.

The two-time Super Bowl champion and the MVP of Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos now joins a Commanders roster that ranks as the NFL’s oldest, with an average age nearing 28.
