Toddler hospitalized after car strike in Syracuse

A 3-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after being hit by a car on Syracuse’s North Side, according to Syracuse police. The collision happened just after 8:30 p.m. at Park Street and Merz Avenue.

The child suffered injuries to his head and face and was listed in stable condition at Upstate University Hospital. Police said the driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Park Street was temporarily closed between Merz and Grumbach avenues as officers examined the crash site. Authorities ask anyone with information to contact Syracuse police at (315) 442-5130.
