YMCA plans ambitious Dansville community center

Dansville could soon be home to a major new YMCA hub, according to the Hornell Evening Tribune. The Tri-County YMCA is exploring a 40,000 to 60,000-square-foot facility that would include fitness amenities, medical services through Noyes Health, and programs for seniors via the Livingston County Office for the Aging.

This “one stop shop” would replace the YMCA’s current setup in a repurposed retail space and allow all programs to run under one roof. YMCA officials say it would be one of the few centers statewide combining healthcare, senior services, and recreation.

The project is still in early planning, with funding expected to come from grants and a local campaign. No construction date is set as feasibility and fundraising efforts continue.
