Bath parolee held on no bail after domestic assault

A Bath man was arrested Saturday following a domestic incident in which police say he assaulted and unlawfully detained someone at a home on Pine Street.

David Strassburg, 39, was taken into custody on July 5 after officers responded to a report of an assault victim around 3 p.m. near Howell and Buell Streets. Police said the victim had been injured during a dispute earlier that day.

Around 6:40 p.m., officers located Strassburg at a Pine Street residence and arrested him without incident. He faces charges of assault in the third degree, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, aggravated family offense, and two counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

According to police, Strassburg is a two-time convicted felon and is currently under New York State parole supervision. The parole office has been notified of his arrest. He was processed and held at the Steuben County Jail without bail.
