The city of Auburn will award a $509,264 contract to widen the intersection at North Street and Standart Avenue, according to The Citizen. Casinella Excavating submitted the lowest of four bids and was cleared by project engineers for the work.
Planned improvements include a larger turning radius, resurfaced roads, new sidewalks, drainage upgrades, and updated traffic signals. The project is funded by the state’s Touring Route Program.
The intersection, which handles over 17,000 vehicles daily, sits near a planned $24 million, 50-unit apartment complex. Residents raised traffic concerns during earlier project reviews.
