The Moravia school board has officially parted ways with its superintendent, John Birmingham, after approving a separation agreement at a special June 30 meeting, according to The Citizen. Birmingham had abruptly taken a voluntary leave on June 9, which officials labeled a personnel issue.
Board President Neil Stevens declined to release the agreement, citing privacy rules, and the district denied a records request for any investigations or disciplinary actions. The board has appointed Concetta Galvan as acting superintendent in the meantime.
Birmingham, who held the role since 2016, has not publicly commented on his departure, and no additional details have been made available as meeting minutes have yet to be published.
