A Florida woman was arrested late Friday night in Yates County after deputies say she was driving drunk on State Route 54A in the Town of Jerusalem.
Bonnie L. O’Neill, 74, of Umatilla, Florida, was stopped around 11:35 p.m. after deputies observed multiple vehicle and traffic violations, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said O’Neill failed several Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was taken to the Yates County Jail, where she refused to submit to a chemical test. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and cited for several additional infractions, including moving from a lane unsafely, failing to stop at a stop sign, not signaling within 100 feet, and having no or insufficient tail lamps.
O’Neill was also charged with possession or consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. She was held pending the next session of CAP Court and will face the charges in Town of Jerusalem Court at a later date.
