A recent class-action settlement could bring compensation to thousands of GameStop customers—if they act by mid-August.
Who qualifies for the GameStop settlement?
As part of a $4.5 million settlement, GameStop has agreed to pay eligible customers either:
- A cash payment of up to $5, or
- A voucher worth up to $10 for use on GameStop’s website
To qualify, customers must meet all of the following criteria:
- Made a purchase on the GameStop website between August 18, 2020, and April 17, 2025
- Had a public Facebook profile at the time
- Used their real name on Facebook
The lawsuit, Alejandro Aldana and Scott Gallie v. GameStop, Inc., alleges that GameStop violated the Video Privacy Protection Act by transmitting personal customer data to Facebook via tracking pixels—without users’ consent.
