The Saunders Finger Lakes Museum has received a $1.8 million grant from the New York State Council on the Arts to help complete its main exhibition hall, according to the Finger Lakes Times. The funding is part of a broader $86 million investment supporting 134 cultural projects statewide.
The Branchport-based museum is still under construction but already offers outdoor activities and programs celebrating the Finger Lakes’ cultural and ecological heritage. The new 15,000-square-foot building will include immersive exhibits, a flexible event space, and an educational center.
The grant supports the museum’s goal of creating an interactive, family-friendly destination rooted in regional storytelling.
