Tuesday’s series opener between the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets at Citi Field has been postponed due to rain.
The teams will make up the contest on Wednesday as part of a split doubleheader. Game 1 is slated to begin at 1:10 p.m., with the nightcap set for 7:10 p.m.
Clay Holmes, who holds an 8-4 record with a 2.97 ERA, was originally scheduled to start for New York on Tuesday. Milwaukee planned to counter with Freddy Peralta, also 8-4, with a 2.90 ERA.
The Brewers (47-37) and Mets (48-37) both sit in second place in their respective divisions.
