Jasper man charged with public lewdness and child endangerment

A Steuben County man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly exposing himself in front of children and providing false information to investigators.

Deputies arrested 34-year-old Cody P. Hawley of Hunter Hill Road, Jasper, following a report of a man standing naked in a window. According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Hawley was repeatedly seen partially unclothed as children walked past the residence.

Authorities also allege that Hawley gave a false written statement about his behavior. He faces three charges: Public Lewdness, Filing a False Written Statement, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Hawley was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
