Second tornado confirmed in Oneida County storm

A second tornado has been confirmed in Oneida County from Sunday’s early morning storms, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton. This new tornado touched down near Clinton and originated from a separate thunderstorm cell than the earlier deadly Clark Mills tornado.

The Clinton tornado was identified after a storm survey conducted Tuesday, marking it distinct from the Clark Mills storm, which killed three people. Both were part of the same broader system but developed independently.

The National Weather Service has released full survey data and path maps for both tornadoes as cleanup and recovery continue across the region.
