The Auburn Downtown Business Improvement District has officially appointed Jesse Kline as its new Executive Director, marking a significant leadership transition for the organization.

Kline, who joined the BID in 2010 as Assistant Director, was announced as Executive Director on Wednesday. She has served as Acting Executive Director since April 2024, bringing 15 years of experience and a strong record of contributions to downtown Auburn’s development and cultural vitality.

“Jesse Kline possesses a strong blend of relevant skills, organizational insights, and proven results,” said outgoing BID Board Chair Dawn Schulz. “She brings her passion and talent for enhancing downtown as a hub for public art and culture.”

Throughout her tenure, Kline has led numerous initiatives, including the creation of the “Art for Auburn” program, oversight of public art installations, and collaboration on the city’s Public Art Trail. She also played key roles in organizing community events like First Fridays, the Memorial Day Food Truck Rodeo, Music on the Mall, and Founder’s Day.

Since stepping in as Acting Executive Director, she has guided strategic planning efforts, completed seven Downtown Revitalization Initiative projects, and led successful fundraising and beautification efforts, including the Flower Power program. Under her direction, the BID has also implemented new administrative systems and secured grants for public art projects.

Incoming BID Board Chair Andrew Simkin welcomed the leadership change, noting the district’s momentum. “We eagerly anticipate Jesse Kline’s leadership as Executive Director,” Simkin said. “Jesse brings valuable experience and enthusiasm for the area’s future development.”

Reflecting on her new role, Kline said, “I am grateful and excited to serve as the Executive Director of the Auburn Downtown BID. Our organization also warmly welcomes incoming Board of Directors Mark DiVietro, Dustin Culver, and Jeff Ludwig.”
