The U.S. military launched a massive strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, claiming the mission severely damaged three major sites and crushed Tehran’s nuclear goals. Defense officials said the strikes involved over 125 aircraft and multiple types of advanced munitions.
Labeled “Operation Midnight Hammer,” the assault sparked intense regional tension and drew swift condemnation from Iranian officials. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the U.S. had crossed a critical red line and warned of far-reaching consequences. He declared diplomacy with Washington dead.
Despite the attack, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said communication lines remain open and that Iran still has an opportunity to negotiate.
