A Seneca Falls man is facing multiple charges after police say a crossbow bolt he fired missed its target and struck a mailbox attached to a home.
On June 20, the Seneca Falls Police Department arrested 33-year-old Joshua Davis following a complaint from a resident who discovered an arrow lodged in their mailbox. An investigation revealed that Davis had been shooting a crossbow on a nearby street when one of the bolts traveled across the roadway and hit the residence.
Davis was charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree, an A misdemeanor; unlawful possession and use of firearms, an unclassified misdemeanor; and a town code violation for discharging a weapon. No injuries were reported.
He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Seneca Falls Court at a later date.
