Keshequa senior wins Livingston County ‘I Voted’ sticker design contest

The Livingston County Board of Elections has announced Madeline Strain, a senior at Keshequa Central School, as the winner of its 2025 “I Voted” sticker design contest. Strain’s patriotic artwork, featuring a bald eagle set against the American flag, will appear on stickers distributed to voters across the county during upcoming elections.

This marks the second year of the contest, which invites students in grades 5–12 to submit original “I Voted” designs aimed at promoting civic engagement among young residents.

“This contest has been a great way for us to engage with the younger community and promote interest in our democratic process,” said Board of Elections Commissioner Gary Nageldinger. “We had some very impressive entries this year.”

Strain’s design was selected from among five finalists by public vote, earning 46.1% of the ballots cast online. She was recognized with an award certificate during a ceremony at her school, and she and her family have been invited to attend the July 23 Board of Supervisors meeting in Geneseo for additional recognition.

Her artwork will be used on official election materials through the November 2026 general election, when the next contest winner’s design will take its place.
