Livingston County has received national recognition for its commitment to financial transparency and accountability.
On June 12, the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) awarded the county its 2025 Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. This marks the fourth time Livingston County has earned the honor, having previously been recognized in 2016, 2017, and 2019.
“This is a huge accomplishment and a testament to our commitment to transparent and accountable government,” said County Administrator David Pribulka. “I want to acknowledge and thank the County’s Board of Supervisors, County staff and our leadership team for their outstanding work in preparing this budget, along with former County Administrator Ian M. Coyle for his relentless pursuit of making county government accessible to everyone.”
The GFOA reviews budget submissions using criteria developed by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting, focusing on how well the budget functions as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications tool.
The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award is the only national recognition in governmental budgeting. Each year, more than 1,900 state and local governments participate in the program.
