Byrne Dairy is building a major expansion at its Aurelius facility with the help of a tax deal, according to The Citizen. The $8 million project, backed by a PILOT agreement, will add a 31,700-square-foot bakery and distribution center for Shelby’s Donuts.
Expected to create up to 28 new jobs, the expansion includes automated baking lines, a new cooler, and other equipment. Construction began in May and should wrap by December. The tax breaks total about $671,000 over 10 years.
Local leaders say the project reflects growing commercial momentum in Cayuga County.
