A Steuben County man was arrested after allegedly threatening deputies with a bomb following a high-speed chase.
Thomas B. Stark, 26, of Old Hammondsport Road in Bath, was charged with making a terroristic threat, a class D felony, along with multiple other offenses after fleeing from a traffic stop, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Stark drove over 100 mph on State Route 415 in the Towns of Campbell and Bath while intoxicated and with a suspended or revoked license. Deputies pursued Stark to the Village of Savona, where he allegedly fled on foot. K9 Tripp helped track and apprehend him.
During the arrest, Stark allegedly threatened deputies with serious bodily harm, claiming he had a bomb. He was additionally charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, speeding, consuming alcohol while driving, and obstructing governmental administration in the second degree.
He was arraigned and held in lieu of $1 cash bail. Stark appeared in Bath Town Court on June 11 and was released.
