A 63-year-old man in Cayuga County was struck by lightning Thursday night while trying to close a window during a thunderstorm. The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. at a home on Main Street in the town of Locke.

The man was on an enclosed porch when lightning apparently hit the area near the window. Emergency crews transported him to Cortland Hospital, but the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office reported he did not appear to suffer serious injuries.
