A 53-year-old Bath resident was arrested on June 9 after police observed him appearing under the influence of narcotics in Pulteney Park.
According to the Village of Bath Police Department, officers approached Christopher R. Heath around 3:40 p.m. to check his welfare after he was seen behaving erratically in an area occupied by children and families. Officers determined he was under the influence of drugs.
Heath was charged with Appearance in Public Under the Influence of Narcotics or a Drug Other Than Alcohol, under NYS Penal Law 240.40. He was issued an appearance ticket for a future court date and asked to leave the park.
The department emphasized its commitment to public safety and encouraged residents to report suspicious activity.
