Deputies arrested an 18-year-old woman from Port Byron after she was found with stolen items tied to an earlier larceny investigation, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jayla M. Dwyer was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor, after deputies linked her to merchandise taken from a business on Route 31 in the Town of Mentz.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the items were found at Dwyer’s residence, where she lived with the male suspect from the original theft report. Investigators said Dwyer tried to sell the stolen goods online.

She was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Village of Port Byron Court on June 17 at 6:00 PM.
