Pete Alonso’s red-hot stretch at the plate has earned him National League Player of the Week honors.
The New York Mets first baseman put together a monster week, hitting .400 with five home runs, 15 RBI, and nine runs scored across seven games, helping the Mets to a 5-2 record. His production was capped by a two-homer performance in Sunday’s win over the Colorado Rockies, which gave him 243 career home runs, moving him past David Wright for second on the Mets’ all-time list.
Alonso enters the week batting .301 with a .396 on-base percentage and a .594 slugging percentage. His 61 RBI lead the National League, and his 17 home runs and 20 doubles rank among the league’s best.
