Traffic on the Ovid Street Bridge in Seneca Falls is now limited to one lane in each direction as construction work by the Department of Transportation begins a months-long project.
According to the Seneca Falls Fire Department, jersey barriers have been installed to block off two of the bridge’s lanes. The change has already begun to impact traffic flow, with shorter traffic light cycles and limited space for vehicles to maneuver around left-turning drivers causing backups.
Officials say the DOT project is expected to last five months. Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution in the area to help avoid collisions and reduce the need for emergency response.
