Millions of veterans relying on VA disability benefits can expect their June 2025 payments to arrive on Friday, May 30.
The Department of Veterans Affairs follows a consistent schedule: Payments for a given month are typically made on the first business day of the following month. However, when that day falls on a weekend or federal holiday—as July 1 does this year—the VA issues deposits on the preceding business day.
What to know about June’s VA benefit payments
- Payment date: Friday, May 30, 2025
- Covers: Disability compensation for June 2025
- Reason for early deposit: July 1 is a Sunday
This is not a second May payment—it’s the scheduled compensation for June. Veterans should budget accordingly to avoid confusion between the late May and early July deposits.

2025 cost-of-living increase
Veterans saw a 2.5% COLA (cost-of-living adjustment) added to their monthly benefits starting in December 2024. Updated monthly compensation rates for 2025 include:
- 10% disability rating: $175.51 per month
- 100% disability rating (no dependents): $3,831.30 per month
The VA bases monthly payments on a veteran’s disability rating and family status, with additional compensation available for dependents.
