Toyota is recalling more than 440,000 vehicles across the U.S. due to a defect that could affect visibility and increase crash risks when reversing.
The issue centers on faulty reverse lights that may fail over time.
What models are impacted?
The recall affects the following Toyota models:
- 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra

Moisture can enter the light assemblies, causing the reverse lights to fail. Without functioning reverse lights, drivers may struggle to see behind them and cannot signal their movement to others, raising the risk of an accident.

Toyota reported the problem to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on May 19, 2025.
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail starting June 30, 2025.
Repairs will be performed at no cost to owners. Toyota dealers will inspect and replace reverse light assemblies and wire harnesses as needed.
