A Lockwood man is facing felony charges after his truck slammed into an occupied home in Chemung, seriously injuring a resident.
New York State Police arrested 43-year-old Terry Lynn Murray after responding to the crash on Dry Brook Road around 9:25 p.m. on May 27. The incident followed a police pursuit that began in Sayre, Pennsylvania, but was called off once the vehicle crossed into New York.
Troopers arrived at the scene to find a 2014 Toyota Tundra had crashed into a residence at 959 Dry Brook Road. Emergency crews were extricating two residents from the damaged home. Connie A. Miller, 71, sustained serious internal injuries and was transported to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. John J. Miller, 76, was also injured but is expected to recover.
Police took Murray into custody at the scene and charged him with vehicular assault in the first degree, driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction, and aggravated unlicensed operation, all felonies.
He was arraigned in Ashland Town Court and remanded to the Chemung County Jail on bail. The investigation remains active.
