A Moravia man was arrested last week after deputies found him slumped over the wheel of his vehicle with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.

Deputies arrested 43-year-old Moses J. Geri on May 22 for driving while intoxicated, following a complaint about reckless driving from The Watering Hole Bar & Grill in the Town of Summer Hill.

According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses reported that a man leaving the bar had driven recklessly, kicking up rocks that struck the building. Deputies located the suspect vehicle shortly after on Skinner Hill Road in the Town of Moravia.

They found Geri hunched over the steering wheel and initially unresponsive. After waking him, deputies determined he had been operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. A breath test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.13 percent.

Geri was charged with two misdemeanor counts of DWI, including driving while intoxicated per se. He was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Moravia Town Court at a later date.
