Teens rescued after fall at Clark Gully trail

Two teenagers were rescued Monday after sliding off a muddy trail in Yates County’s Clark Gully area near Canandaigua Lake, according to local fire officials. The fall happened around 2:15 p.m. and triggered a multi-agency rope rescue effort.

Naples Fire Chief CJ Stephens said the teens fell about 20 to 30 feet and were initially unsure of their injuries. Crews reached them within 15 minutes and determined there were no major injuries.

Despite the wet terrain, coordinated GPS tracking and teamwork between Yates and Ontario County rope crews led to a successful operation. Both teens were eventually airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
