A Hammondsport woman has been charged with grand larceny after authorities say she stole more than $7,000 from her employer over a two-month period last year.
Melissa A. Crane, 39, was arrested on May 23 following an investigation by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office into a reported theft from a retail business in the Town of Urbana.
According to Sheriff Jim Allard, Crane is accused of stealing the funds between July and September. She now faces a charge of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class D felony.
Crane was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and released pending further proceedings.
