A key alumni group will host a virtual forum Wednesday to discuss efforts to bring Wells College back to life.
The Cleveland Commission for Wells College is inviting the public to a Zoom meeting on May 28 at 7 p.m. to present its bid to purchase and reopen the historic Aurora campus. The group believes the site is still a viable home for a liberal arts institution and has launched a campaign to raise $100,000 in support.
The college abruptly shut down in April 2024 due to financial issues. While multiple bids are under consideration, the commission is petitioning the state to recognize its plan as the best path forward.
