A Waterloo man already behind bars is now facing new charges after investigators recovered firearms from his home, in violation of a court order.

Seneca County Sheriff Timothy Thompson announced the arrest of 20-year-old Bronc O. Petrie on May 23 following the discovery of a rifle, shotgun, and ammunition at his Burgess Road residence. Petrie is currently incarcerated at the Seneca County Correctional Facility.

Authorities say Petrie had previously been convicted of Criminal Contempt in the first degree, a felony, and was under a court order to surrender all firearms. Investigators allege that he failed to comply.

After securing a search warrant, Sheriff’s Investigators executed a search at Petrie’s home and located the weapons and ammunition. Petrie was subsequently charged with Aggravated Criminal Contempt, Criminal Contempt in the first degree, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree.

He was held for arraignment at the Centralized Arraignment Part Court.
