A man with a prior conviction for child pornography will spend another 12 years in prison after admitting to new charges involving graphic abuse content of young children.
Andrew Wilbur, 25, of Cayuga County, was sentenced Thursday in federal court after he confessed to collecting sexually explicit images and videos of children between January and May of 2024, according to prosecutors. Some victims were as young as 4 years old, the news release stated.
Prosecutors said Wilbur stored the abusive content on an online communication platform and his cellphone. He previously served prison time after a 2019 conviction for child pornography in Cayuga County Court.
In addition to the prison sentence, Wilbur was ordered to serve 15 years of supervised release and must forfeit the cellphone used in the crime. He is also required to continue registering as a sex offender, federal authorities said.
