A weeklong enforcement sweep by Geneva police resulted in five arrests for offenses ranging from driving with suspended licenses to harassment, according to a blotter released Friday.
Officers apprehended multiple individuals between May 16 and May 22, with traffic stops accounting for the majority of cases. The incidents reflect an ongoing police focus on traffic safety and public order in the city.
On May 16, Officer Gunnar Dalton arrested 35-year-old Robert E. Sapp on Exchange Street for driving an uninspected vehicle while his New York State driver’s license was suspended. That same day, Dalton also arrested 34-year-old Charmaine L. St. Denis on Mason Street following a motor vehicle accident. St. Denis was found to be operating a vehicle without an interlock device, in violation of her license conditions, which was also suspended.
The following day, 26-year-old Michael A. Orr was pulled over on Pulteney Street and charged with a similar list of offenses. Orr was operating an uninspected vehicle while driving with a suspended non-driver’s license and without an interlock device, according to police.
In a separate case, Officer Stephen Decker responded to a complaint on May 20 that led to the arrest of 40-year-old Matthew S. Bobbett of Auburn. Bobbett was charged with Harassment in the 2nd degree after allegedly striking another person in an incident on Lakefront Drive.
The final arrest occurred on May 21, when Dalton stopped 37-year-old Deborah Rodriguez-Medina for failing to yield and signal at a left turn. She was subsequently found to be driving with a suspended license and without a valid driver’s permit.
