UPDATE: Auburn woman arrested after stabbing two people

An Auburn woman was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly stabbing two women and hiding from police in her attic.

Officers responded to the area of Seymour and Holly streets just before 9 p.m., where they found two women suffering from stab wounds. The victims told officers the attacker, identified as Kelli Vroman, had fled the scene on foot.

Police tracked Vroman to her home at 5 Liberty Street. When they arrived to question her, she was allegedly found hiding in the attic.

Vroman was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

The two victims were taken to SUNY Upstate Medical University with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Authorities said Vroman was known to the victims, and the incident appears to have been isolated, with no ongoing threat to the public.

She was transported to Cayuga County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
