A Rome man was taken into custody after failing to appear in court on DWI charges, according to the Penn Yan Police Department.
Devan M. Britton, 26, was arrested on a bench warrant issued by the Village of Penn Yan Court for missing his court date on April 14. The Yates County Sheriff’s Office located Britton at the Town of Jerusalem Court during an unrelated matter and turned him over to Penn Yan Police.
In addition to the warrant, Britton now faces a charge of third-degree bail jumping for not appearing in court on the scheduled date and in the thirty days that followed. He was transported to the Yates County Jail and is awaiting CAP arraignment.
