A Penn Yan man was arrested late Tuesday night after allegedly violating an active order of protection during a domestic incident, police said.
Dakota L. Northrup, 28, was taken into custody at approximately 11:15 p.m. on May 6 after Penn Yan Police responded to a disturbance at a local apartment complex.
According to officers, Northrup approached and yelled at an individual who has an active protective order against him. The victim told police that Northrup’s actions caused them to fear for their physical safety. Northrup was arrested on a charge of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree.
He was processed at the Penn Yan Police Department and transported to the Yates County Jail to await arraignment.
