Six projects in Hammondsport and Urbana will receive $4.5 million through New York’s NY Forward program, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced.
The funding will support a range of initiatives, including rebuilding Champlin Beach Pier, converting the historic Curtiss School into rental housing, and improving pedestrian access between downtown and Keuka Lake. Local leaders say the projects aim to preserve the area’s charm while boosting tourism and community life.
Other efforts include creating a heritage trail, opening a cyclist-friendly café, and renovating historic downtown properties. Officials say the upgrades will strengthen Hammondsport’s identity as a Finger Lakes destination.
