The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating a major milestone for one of its longtime members. Detective Sergeant Rob Harkins was recently recognized for 20 years of dedicated service to the department.
Harkins began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 2005 as a Court Security Officer. He became a Deputy Sheriff in 2008 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2023. Over the years, he has become a key figure in several specialized units.
Detective Harkins focuses primarily on investigating crimes against children. He also serves as a certified Field Training Officer, an active member of the Emergency Response Team, and the Team Leader of the Hostage Negotiator Team.
The Sheriff’s Office extended its congratulations and appreciation, stating: “Thank you for your service and dedication to Wayne County!”
