A Central New York woman is facing charges after deputies say she made a false statement about a domestic incident earlier this month.
Julie M. Robbins, 39, of Eaton, was arrested for Making a Punishable False Written Statement, a misdemeanor, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a reported domestic dispute in the Town of Cato on May 2 at 11:12 a.m. Robbins gave a sworn written statement about the alleged incident. However, an investigation determined that the events she described did not occur.
Following the discovery, Robbins was taken to the Sheriff’s Office and issued an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in Cato Town Court on May 19 at 5:00 p.m.
The Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information about the case to call 315-253-1222 or leave an anonymous tip through the county website or the SaferWatch app.
