Newark man arrested on bench warrant at Seneca County Jail

A Newark man was taken into custody Tuesday morning at the Seneca County Jail on a bench warrant issued by the Ontario County Supreme Court.

Darrell E. Wright, 43, of 306 West Union Street, was arrested at approximately 10:23 a.m. on May 13 after failing to appear for a scheduled court appearance.

The warrant stems from Wright’s original arrest in March 2024 on a charge of Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, a Class E felony. He is accused of stealing a wallet containing debit and credit cards and $1,000 in cash at the Finger Lakes Racino in the Town of Farmington.

Wright was transported to the Ontario County Jail and is awaiting arraignment.

The case was investigated by Deputy Fitzgerald.
