Rochester man charged with grand larceny after theft from Richmond auto shop

A Rochester man has been charged with felony grand larceny following an investigation into a theft at an auto repair shop in Ontario County.


According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Richard F. Zimmerman, 34, was arrested on May 2, 2025, in the City of Rochester. Authorities allege Zimmerman stole motor vehicle parts from a business in the Town of Richmond during April, with the total value of the stolen items exceeding $1,000.

Zimmerman was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a Class E felony. He was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in Richmond Town Court at a later date.

The investigation was handled by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
