An investigation into allegations of child abuse led to the arrest of a Montezuma man, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Dillon M. O’Hare, 28, was arrested on April 25 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. Sheriff Brian Schenck announced the arrest in a release dated May 1.
Authorities said they were alerted to the alleged abuse on April 7. Members of the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division and Cayuga County Child Protective Services launched an investigation that resulted in O’Hare being charged. Officials stated that O’Hare turned himself in and was issued an appearance ticket to attend court in the Town of Montezuma on May 7.
The Sheriff’s Office noted that no further details would be released regarding the investigation. They encouraged anyone with information to contact the department or leave an anonymous tip through the SaferWatch app.
