A former Cayuga County resident was arrested at Newark Liberty International Airport for allegedly planning to kill a local individual, according to The Citizen. Jerry P. Gordon faces charges of making threats using interstate communications after texting and emailing warnings about his violent intentions.
Authorities say Gordon intended to use a sniper setup from an abandoned house and warned he would confront any law enforcement who intervened. He also threatened action at Cornell University and runs a website alleging local corruption.
Gordon waived his right to a preliminary hearing and remains in federal custody as the investigation continues.
